Zhenzhao Tu
I'm a Master's student there, currently navigating visa limbo courtesy of the Trump administration. An undignified first sentence for a webpage, but it is the true one.
Most of the time I think about numerical methods and dynamical systems, and about the theoretical limits of machine learning. Lately that has meant the lazy and rich regimes of neural networks, and a quantity I have been calling network richness.
I write, unevenly, in English and in Chinese. The pile includes notes on AI, and the odd personal fragment that does not belong anywhere else.
I grew up in Guangdong, in a family that is more Chongqing than the map would suggest. This has consequences for hot pot. Away from a desk I take photographs, and I like walking through mountains and cities until they start to make a kind of sense.
If you want the slightly more official version, there is a CV. If you would rather argue about AI, look at some market indicators I keep an eye on, wander through a few interesting websites, or just write, you can reach me.

Research
Right now
I’m analyzing network richness, reading Karkada on the lazy and rich regimes, and trying to stay awake during 3 a.m. Zoom calls.
Things I keep coming back to
- Properly spicy hot pot.
- Clean, Swiss-style UI design.
- A piece of mathematics I think about too much.
- A website more people need to see.
