I'm a Master's student there, currently stuck dealing with visa issues thanks to the Trump administration. Not exactly the most glamorous way to start a homepage, but it’s the reality right now.

Most of my time goes into numerical methods, dynamical systems, and figuring out the theoretical limits of machine learning. Lately, that means looking at the transition between lazy and rich regimes in neural networks, and tracking something I’ve been calling network richness.

I also write—whenever I actually find the time—in both English and Chinese. It’s a mix of notes on AI and random ideas I just didn't want to forget. And since I spend half my life thinking about AI, don't be shocked if an algorithm occasionally helps me edit a sentence or two.

I grew up in Guangdong, but my parents are from Chongqing. This basically just means I have completely unreasonable standards for hot pot. When I'm not staring at a screen, I usually have a camera with me, or I'm wandering around mountains and unfamiliar cities until I get a feel for the place.
